Been to many hotsprings, but have never made the trip to Saline. Would like attempt a trip in the fall...... hopefully
I drive a Ford Ranger XLT V6. I know it's a Ford, but it is a fairly reliable truck. Unfortunitally though, it's a two wheel drive.
Will I make it OK, or should the road only be attempted with a 4x4?

Fri, August 21, 2009 - 8:33 PMI've driven my two wheel drive ford van into saline from both directions and never had a problem. bring two spare tires and don't stop in the sand. Check my pics.

Sat, August 22, 2009 - 2:24 PMYeah, just make sure you have good tires and at least one good spare, preferably two. Tire punctures are common. You won't need 4x4. Just make sure you check the weather (forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php before you go. There can be snow and mud on the passes. -
